Gorka Marquez reveals picture of himself as a young boy

Strictly stars Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice met up with co-star Gorka Marquez during their Spanish Adventures on their BBC show. Gorka, 33, gave the stars a tour around San Sebastián, where he grew up, before showing his fellow professional dancers an unseen snap of himself as a youngster.

Anton, 57, and Giovanni, 33, met up with him and enjoyed a breakfast fit for Kings, before they headed out to do some sightseeing in the North of Spain. As they sat down, Gorka thought it would be amusing to show them a never-before-seen image of himself.

The dancing star who joined the popular reality dancing show back in 2016, said: “Can I show you something, you are going to like this honestly.” Anton beamed from ear to ear and shouted: “Yes please!"

Gorka began laughing and said, “I am telling you this is not going to disappoint you.” In the photo, the young dancer smiled at the camera as he stood in his school uniform.

However, the aspiring Spanish star looked almost unrecognisable due to his baby face. Giovanni could not hold back his shock as he was heard saying: “Oh my! Wow, what happened? You don’t look anything like that now.”

Anton sat there in agreement and echoed Giovanni’s reaction after his jaw dropped. He was in complete disbelief and said, “Oh my God”.

The BBC judge went on to ask him if he was adopted, as he did not resemble an inch of what he looks like now.

Gorka burst into fits of laughter with Anton and Giovanni continuing to poke fun at his looks from his younger years.

Giovanni, who is best friends with Gorka off-screen, went on to say, “I am glad to see that Gorka was a bit round-faced, it’s the same way I was.

"It is like we have lived the same life in two different countries.”

During the final episode of the series, viewers saw the three men make an epic journey through Spain.

They left Madrid behind and headed to the Basque region in the north of the county, where Anton used to visit his grandparents' village with his family as a small boy for the summer.

During their stay in San Sebastián where they caught up with Gorka, they sampled the local cheesecake, which Anton hasn’t enjoyed since he was a child.

Gorka also gave his pals a glimpse at the unique culture. One of their favourite activities was devouring the local delicacies - particularly the bite-sized Basque pintxo.

Towards the end of the episode, the lads headed out into the ocean and attempted to surf before visiting Bilbao and the world-renowned Guggenheim Museum.
