The BBC has finally unveiled the fate of Bradley Walsh and his son Barney on Gladiators. The broadcaster announced that the father and son team will return to present the second series of the popular reality programme.

Earlier this week, when rumours about the show's renewal began circulating, it was uncertain whether Bradley and Barney would be back. Now, however, a BBC spokesperson has confirmed that the pair will indeed be part of the upcoming season.

The show's reboot introduced 16 new Gladiators who participated in classic events including Duel and the Eliminator, as well as fresh ones like The Edge. The current lineup includes Gladiators such as Sabre, Legend, Nitro, Diamond, Phantom, Athena, Bionic, Fire, Giant, Dynamite, Viper, Electro, Apollo, Comet, Steel, and Fury.

This latest update, revealed by OK!, comes as BBC's head of entertainment Kalpna Patel-Knight expressed her delight over the show's return.

She said: "Gladiators has really kicked this year off with a bang, and we're so delighted that the fans have come to the show in their masses. It has been wonderful to hear how much families have loved watching this together, as part of the BBC's Saturday evening entertainment offering. We can't wait for more action from the Gladiators."

Dan Baldwin from Hungry Bear Media could hardly contain his excitement.

He exclaimed: "It's no exaggeration to say that the response to Gladiators has been phenomenal. The episodes have been packed with nail-biting drama, thrilling action and huge emotion. Series two will see the show go from strength-to-strength. We have some amazing surprises in store for the fans. Are you ready?"

When Gladiators returned earlier this year, it pulled in an audience of six million viewers. This number shot up to 9.8 million after a month.
